The first time I met Justin Brock was for a “Who’s Next?” interview in this year’s Am Issue (July ‘08). And it only took me about the 45 minutes our conversation lasted to realize Justin is one of the coolest dudes ever. He’s Hilarious, he’s humble, and he’s one hell of a skateboarder.

For as young as he is, I think 21 by now, Justin has some of the craziest stories to tell. Searching for chicks on a Southwest flight and winning big with a fake ID on his first trip to Vegas is what we couldn’t fit into the issue. Check it right here.

So, did you guys get stuck at the airport?
Oh, it was crazy. We woke up in the morning and my mom called me and she was like, ?If you?re flying American, you probably won?t be able to fly today.” I checked and we were on American and our flight said it was going to be a fifteen minute delay. So, we get to the airport and we check in and get to the terminal and it was pretty much just like a cock tease. They make us go all the way to the gate, and then they cut us off. They?re like, you?re gonna have to go here, you?re gonna have to pick up your bags, and you?re not gonna be able to fly out til the next day. That kinda sucked. But we just ended up getting on a Southwest flight. And those flights are fun anyway ?cause you scope it out and maybe sit beside a chick or something.

Yeah, there’s no assigned seating so you can walk down the aisle and see who?s looking good and take a seat.
Yep, yep. That happens from time to time [laughs]. But then you sit right beside her and you can?t even say anything. You?re just like, ?Uh? uh??

So, Nike didn?t come pick you up in their private jet?
Ah, f?k no. I don?t think we?re gonna be doing that sh-t no more. We?re gonna take it back to skating.

What happened on your trip to Las Vegas?
We get into Vegas and I?d never been to Vegas so I didn?t know the whole deal. I?m from the South. In Vegas you can smoke. Cigarettes. Inside the building, which I was super stoked on, I could not believe it. And then, if you?re gambling, free drinks. So, wow.

That means you were gambling?
Oh yeah. Me and David [Clark], the last night we were there, were gambling until seven o?clock in the morning. Oh, I got a story about gambling too.

Wait, you?re not 21 though.
No, I got a fake ID. Reese Forbes gave me twenty dollars and told me to put it on black on roulette. I was kinda nervous, but I was like, ?All right, f?k it.? I didn?t know, I had never gambled. I tell the dealer to put my twenty on black, I won black on got forty. Then I put twenty on red 19 and then twenty on 28. It hits 28. And I immediately win 350 dollars. I was like, ?Ohhh sh-t!? So, I broke out. I took the money and I was gonna hold on to it for a minute and then we ended up going to the Bellagio and I come up 700 dollars. And then I blew it all.

What?d you blow it on?
I was up 700, so I was like, ?F?k it!? I was getting drunk so I was throwing 100-dollar chips on sh-t.

And losing?
[Laughs] It didn?t turn out for the better that?s for sure, but it was a lot of fun.

You know that?s why they give out free drinks while you?re gambling?
I know and they pump oxygen in there so you can stay awake.

How does it feel to be an am that?s pretty much sought after by magazines, companies, etc.
Ah, it?s awesome. I still don?t really know what to think of it. It?s still new to me, like interviews and stuff, but I always get psyched. I?m happy to be doing what I love and then getting recognition or however it is. It?s fun. It?s a life. It?s a great life. I have no complaints, I love every bit of it.

After the Fallen vid we bombed some beers, bombed some parking garages, and I got all Rampage on a cement wall.
